Japan's Footprints

How We Started

Since its inception in Japan in 1988, Colliers International and its people have redefined the meaning of real estate consultancy services in this market.

Colliers International acts solely in the interest of the client as an advisor, partner, and team member, without the dual representation and conflicts of interest common in Japanese real estate. Numerous multinational corporations appoint Colliers International to represent them exclusively for all their real estate requirements.

A Few Key Milestones

Colliers commences first operations in Japan by affiliation.

Colliers International in Asia Pacific partners with Jardine Matheson Ltd. to become Colliers Jardine.

Colliers Macaulay Nicolls (CMN) purchase a 50% interest in Colliers Jardine.

CMN acquires the remaining 50% interest in Colliers Jardine, resulting in full ownership and return to the name of Colliers International.

2010 marks a significant milestone in the history of Colliers International. Globally, the group operation combines with FirstService Real Estate Advisors and runs under the holding company FirstService Corporation (FS) who own 70% of the business worldwide.

Colliers International in Asia completes the roll-out of the new visual identity and brand positioning, presenting globally as one company, one name, one brand and one vision.
