Professional Summary
Having worked in the Lease Advisory side for over 30 years, Matthew is a specialist in high value retail / leisure rent reviews, lease renewals and lease negotiations.
This includes luxury shops, bars, restaurants and gyms in London along with other large retail stores (particularly supermarkets / department stores) and flagship shops throughout the UK for both landlords and tenants. Occupational advice and due diligence on supermarket investment acquisitions is a particular expertise and he is regularly approached by investors and brokers alike to provide specialist advice in this area.
His team of five full time professional surveyors and two consultants deal with retail / leisure rent reviews, lease renewals and regears for landlords and occupiers in all of the major towns and cities in the UK. He also works closely with the agency and investment teams in asset management initiatives, lease restructuring and investment acquisitions and sales.
He is on the RICS panel of independent experts and is regularly called upon to act as third party on high value rent reviews in Central London and throughout the country.
Accomplishments
Matthew enjoys leading a team, but with a true hands on approach, working at the coal face to achieve the best possible results for his clients, particularly on the larger and more complex cases.
He has in depth experience in preparing cases to arbitrators and independent experts as well as having attended oral hearings and preparing court reports.
He has published a number of papers on topical / legal issues relating to the all types of retail / restaurant markets and presents the findings to the City.

On the landlord side, Matthew works for all of the major funds and institutions including Abrdn, Aviva Investors, Columbia Threadneedle, Legal & General, M&G and Nuveen along with a range of property companies - from the very largest such as Land Securities, Hammerson and Delancey to smaller, privately owned vehicules and high net worth individuals.
On the tenant side, he acts for a number of multiple chains of retail, supermarket and restaurant tenants in relation to their large / flagship stores in London and other major cities throughout the UK.

Colin is a Director in our Lease Advisory team and specialises in high value and large store retail rent reviews and lease renewals.
This includes transactions on supermarkets, department and variety stores throughout the UK and high value retail units in Central London.
Colin and his team works closely with our agency and investment teams in high value retail investment acquisitions and leasing transactions to provide truly holistic property advice.

I am a Consultant within Colliers International's Lease Advisory department with a commercial focus on Shopping Centres and High Street locations throughout the UK.
Joining Colliers from Briant Champion Long in 2014 I have over 25 years experience in the retail market. I was was previously with Land Securities (Retail Division) for 14 years in an Asset Management role.
I have been acting as a Consultant in the Lease Advisory team since 2004, dealing with retail rent reviews, lease renewals and re-gears. I have over 35 years experience, having previously worked for Chesterton, De Groot Collis, Symon Smith, Drivers Jonas and Daniel Smith. I advise commercial clients on retail high street, out of town parks and shopping centres as well as their offices and industrial and also residential properties.
Having graduated in Bsc (Hons) Real Estate at the University of Westminster in July 2015, Callum joined the UK Retail Lease Advisory team as a graduate and continued in the role following qualification in November 2017.
As part of the role, Callum advises a range of clients on lease renewals, lease re-gears and rent reviews. However, the traditional lease advisory role has widened in recent years and Callum therefore also assists clients on portfolio strategy, lease restructuring including turnover, CVA/Restructuring Plan advice, lease surrenders and assignments/sublettings.
Callum's advises a range of landlord and occupier clients with a focus on Central London retail and high-streets in top town/cities outside of London. Landlord clients include Aviva, Church Commissioners, Legal & General, Transport for London, ABF Pension Fund, London & Cambridge and Columbia Threadneedle. Occupiers clients include Currys, Bupa Dental and Healthcare, Vodafone, Santander, Vivienne Westwood and ME+EM.
