I'm a communications professional who has previously worked as a journalist for eight years covering a broad range of topics including politics, crime, health and housing in north London. In recent years I have worked in corporate communications for local authorities across London and joined Colliers in October 2019, initially providing maternity leave cover.
I provide strategic public relations advice to various business lines within the UK organisation to secure recognition for their work in the property press as well as key target media, and work with our experts to produce thought leadership pieces which are of interest to our clients and colleagues within the commercial real estate sector. In addition, alongside colleagues in the PR and wider communications team, I provide media and social media training for our in-house experts to prepare them for media opportunities and raise their personal brand within the sector.
As well as supporting various teams within the UK business, I also I curate and edit regular content for the Colliers.com blog, which drives credible business leads to our experts.
Accomplishments
Project managed Colliers UK's COP26 campaign in November 2021 producing thought leadership, news items, videos and blogs as well as devising the PR strategy for our key piece of research.
Managing the publicity for Colliers sale and leaseback of McLaren's Woking campus in April 2021 and secured widespread coverage for our Leicester Square opportunity with Soho Estates.
Supporting the EMEA Workplace Advisory team in their production of the Work from Home survey in April 2020 and securing widespread media coverage of its results.
Marketing and promoting the first ever Walk-in-Stow event in September 2019 which was attended by more than 10,000 people.
Gaining consistent coverage of Waltham Forest Council's Enjoy Waltham Forest programme in regional and trade publications.
Securing national coverage for Newham Council's Fixed Odds Betting Terminals campaign in 2014.
Promoting Newham Council's pioneering PRS licensing team, including featuring on programmes such as the Housing Enforcers.

My Team
My Team
I am responsible for media relations and generating coverage in top tier broadcast and print media. I work across a range of Colliers’ UK & Pan-EMEA business lines advising on their strategic and tactical PR needs.
My role includes:
· Developing and executing PR plans for the various business lines to help promote their key messages across all aspects of the media - print, broadcast and social.
· Media evaluation and reporting objectives, targets and successes across the business.
· Reputation management and crisis management.
· Media training.
· Media engagement: setting up meetings with top tier media and various internal spokespeople to continuously expand and build a presence with property and vertical media network.
· Consistently delivering service excellence, meeting with business heads of a regular basis and trying to influence the research as much as possible to ensure our content has a strong enough news hook.
· Key campaigns that I work on include MIPIM; MAPIC; REVO; Midsummer Retail Report; IHIF; Cities of Influence in addition to a host of all alternative property sector research reports.
I have been working in commercial property communications for over 10 years having previously worked at CBRE and Savills.
In my role at Colliers I am responsible for the PR of National Capital Markets, London Offices and Investment Property Management teams as well as Scotland.
My role includes:
- Creating and exectuing PR plans for business lines that span press, marketing and digital channels
- Media monitoring and reporting
- Advising on brand, tone of voice and profile raising
- Journalist relationship building through face to face meetings, phone calls day to day assistance with stories
- Reputation management of the Colliers brand
As UK Head of Marketing and Communications Helen is responsible for building a marketing strategy that grows brand awareness; drives lead generation; works across business lines to help influence customer experience and ultimately helps us meet our growth and revenue targets.
Helen led the Colliers Digital team in the UK & EMEA from May 2017 and prior to that she was Head of Marketing & PR for Colliers in Ireland.
Helen studied at University College Cork where she obtained a bachelors degree in Law and French, and at Dublin Business School where she has a diploma in Marketing and Event Management, and Public Relations, followed by a Diploma in Digital Marketing from DIT.
Having worked in Marketing and PR across various industries including the Motor Industry with brands such as BMW, Mini, Citroen and Hyundai as well as leading the marketing for Ireland’s most prestigious theatre, the Gate Theatre Helen has a passion for creative marketing strategies. In her early career Helen worked as a Production Manager for Independent TV production companies where she led on online content creation, and social media strategies for several TV shows. Helen also has experience in managing and coordinating large scale events including awards shows, pop-up events, launches and bespoke festivals.
As Head of Content, Communications & PR for Colliers in the UK, I am responsible for driving the strategic direction of corporate communications, media relations, and the programming and production of multi-channel content to engage external and internal audiences across the UK.

I am a PR professional who has extensive agency background experience, working across a plethora of different B2B and B2C clients since 2017.
In 2022, I was employed as a PR Manager at Colliers, where I am responsible for managing communications plans for a number of national business lines, presenting market-leading thought leadership and news and insights to our target audiences in an engaging and compelling way.
My role includes:
- Collaborating with the digital and design teams to identify effective ways of promoting our content; using video, infographics, animations, etc to present our market insights in an engaging way.
- Proactively sourcing news from across the UK business, writing and issuing press releases to promote good news stories and generate quality and relevant media coverage.
- Supporting the wider team in the implementation of PR plans and management of inbound media requests.
- Networking and developing relationships with key journalists across sectors which involves attending press briefings and events.
- Using social media tools to promote good news stories and content as well as building a rapport with journalists on these platforms.
- Building relationships with internal stakeholders and using account management tactics to effectively manage the communications plans for my assigned business lines, through regular meetings, reporting, and proactive media relations.
