Ian has a diverse background in both client-side and advisory roles, with experience in real estate valuation, lending, development and transaction management/underwriting.

Prior to joining Colliers in 2020 Ian worked extensively in the Real Estate Lending Sector in property risk and underwriting roles with both lenders, notably Eurohypo AG, and real estate advisors including CBRE Finance, JLL and Savills. Ian's career has spanned 25 years and began in a valuation advisory capacity working with major clients including Prudential Property Investment Managers; RSA/ISIS Property Asset Managers; Scottish Mutual Assurance plc; Royal London Asset Management Ltd; British Land plc; ING Real Estate; Credit Suisse Property Investment Management Ltd; HSBC Bank plc; RBS; Lloyds Banking Group; HBOS. Ian has worked across a number of asset classes in the UK markets including the commercial, healthcare and retirement sectors.  


Ian has high profile consultancy and client-side real estate banking experience. His expertise spans the Commercial,  Healthcare, Retirement and Mixed use residential real estate markets. Skills include property investment, trading and development capital valuations; loan security valuation reporting; market and asset specific risk analysis; cash-flow underwriting; development feasibility analysis; financial reporting investment portfolio valuation; acquisition reporting; strategic asset business planning and auditing; asset management; transaction/finance underwriting and due diligence.

Over the years Ian has worked on some notable transactions including Liverpool One, Liverpool - Grosvenor, Kings Cross, London - Argent; Spinningfields, Manchester - Allied London and Heron Tower, London - Heron. Ian has also undertaken numerous mixed use portfolio reviews for both loan workout strategy, valuation and lending underwriting purposes.
