Colliers International announces appointment of John van Paassen, Head of Capital Markets in Belgium.

MIPIM, 15 March 2017 - Colliers International in Belgium has hired John van Paassen as Head of Capital Markets, Belgium.

John van Paassen joins Colliers International from Knight Frank where he was Director Capital Markets, Belgium. John has over 20 years of professional real estate experience and started his career with Jones Lang LaSalle in 1995 until 2008. Subsequently he worked three years in Luxembourg for SNS Property Finance. John is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

It’s one of Colliers’ strategic aims to grow the capital markets service lines across the European region and provide a full range of investment services to the professional real estate community. John’s appointment follows recent senior hires in the capital markets team in France with Julian Bonnefoy from Knight Frank and Benjamin Hanouet from CBRE.

According to John van Paassen: ”Colliers International provides an excellent platform to expand capital markets services to the investor community in Belgium and Luxembourg. I have previously worked alongside Colliers in markets such as Germany, the UK and the Netherlands and I look forward to benefitting from the same access to deals and local inside knowledge.  Joining Colliers gives me the opportunity to work with many highly respected market leaders who I have had the pleasure of working with in the past like Tony Horrell (CEO, UK & Ireland), Ignaz Trombello (Head of Investment, Germany) and Julien Bonnefoy (Head of Markets, France). Colliers has hand-picked the best people in each market.”

Pierre-Gilles Solvit, Managing Director, Colliers International Belgium, adds: ”John’s appointment clearly demonstrates our commitment to invest in our resources and serve our clients in the capital markets sector. John has a solid, longstanding network; a proven track record with numerous transactions in Belgium and Luxembourg; and a very professional reputation in this market. Having him on board guarantees the roll-out of our capital markets and investor services.”
