Context & objectives
The workspaces were organised in open space and most of the interior fittings had not been changed for several years. CASRA's management wanted to offer its employees modern environments in line with new working methods.
CASRA's refurbishment project had to meet several objectives: to bring together all of its teams in a single building, to deploy a standard of working environment equivalent to that of its Grenoble office, to support CASRA's transformations and in particular those linked to digital and project-based work, to renovate the ageing premises, to increase the number of meeting rooms, to improve sound insulation, to encourage collaboration, exchanges, training and quality of life at work for the teams, and to optimise property costs.
The works started in August 2019 and were carried out in 5 phases, with final delivery in April 2021. In particular, it was necessary to remove asbestos, rework the technical floors, bring the smoke extraction, fire safety, HVAC and CFO-CFA electrical systems up to standard and adapt them.
The building, commonly called "the boat" by the people of Valence, invites us to travel by its shapes. Iconographic elements linked to travel and the region punctuate the spaces. Our teams of architects have designed the architectural concept to instil a contemporary and warm atmosphere, in order to awaken the work spaces. The furniture and flooring are punctuated with soft colours of blue, light wood and grey, in contrast to the warm yellow that energises the spaces. Each floor follows this thread, and then stands out thanks to a colour code that makes it possible to find one's way around the floors. The multiple facets of the common spaces create surprising universes, allowing the superposition of different materials and colours in a spirit of "escape".
For the separation of spaces, we chose removable glass partitions to allow continuity of the glazing, while maintaining good acoustic performance and the circulation of light. The concept gives a rhythm to the spaces, ensuring a fluidity of use of the building, while respecting the architectural lines of the building and offering employees a comfortable, innovative and luminous experience.
