Professional Summary

Miguel Hernández has been part of winning architecture and design teams both in national and international competitions.

During his first two years as architect, Miguel worked at VASEarq , a small studio from Madrid, where he led the design of a luxury building in Menorca.

At VASEarq, he also took part on the development of two public projects located in Madrid: a public school in Madrid and the refurbishment of a section of the public hospital “La princesa”.

Miguel has also worked in Holarquitectura, where he was part of a mayor challenge: being part of the team that managed the refurbishment of 9 Silken hotels in 9 different cities in Spain.

The project was very complex because it was developed while the hotels kept working all the time. Besides, the timing of the construction works was challenging, because they al were done in just two phases, so the team had to manage 4 or 5 hotels at the same time.

In 2020, Miguel started working for Colliers Arquitectura, where had the opportunity to design and then to supervise the works for the renovation of an office building in Madrid. The project aimed to update and improve the common spaces of the building, on an effort to attract new tenants on a moment where the pandemic lockdown reduced the demand that companies had on office surface.

At the university, Miguel has organized the 3rd edition of 100x10, an award-winning architecture workshop.

At  his very first studio, Miguel led the development of a Multifunctional  area for an hospital in Madrid.

At Holarquitectura, he took part on the refurbishment of 9 Silken Hotels.

Miguel graduated as an architect from the Polytechnic University of Madrid in 2017.

During his fifth year at the university, he studied abroad in Ghent, Belgium. He  finished the first year of the Master of sustainable architecture at KU Leuven.

He  also completed his maters of architecture from the Polytechnical University of Madrid in 2018.

Currently, he is finishing the Power MBA, an  online business school, in order to  keep complementing his education.

Miguel has worked for various and renowned companies such as Silken,  Meridia Capital, Roland Berger,  Noatum or Red Bull.
