Professional Summary
Laura Hernando is Managing Director of the Hotels Department at Colliers International Spain. She was partner of irea from January 2017, when she was appointed to partner after more than ten years of professional career at the firm, until March 2018 when irea joined Colliers International. She specialises in advising on hotel sales, as well as on the sale and purchase of debt portfolios secured by hotel assets and company sales. She also has experience in structuring financing for the acquisition and development of hotels, in financial restructuring for hotel and real estate groups and in strategic consultancy for companies with interests invested in the hotel sector, including the negotiation of management contracts with hotel chains.
She began her career as an analyst in the mergers and acquisitions department at Atlas Capital Close Brothers. Laura joined the irea Hotels division in 2005.
Accomplishments
Laura has a comprehensive vision of the hotel and touristic sectors in Spain, with more than fifteen years of experience in the industry. He has leaded projects in all touristic destinations in Spain (Urban Hotels, Beach Resorts, Golf and Ski Resorts, new hotel developments, etc..) her main areas of expertise are the following:
Hotel Transactions: he has been involved in numerous hotel transactions in the last years having succesfully closed transactions (sell side- buy side) for an amount greater than 1,000 million in individual assets and hotel portfolios. In 2021 she led the advisory of the most important transactions in the sector, advising Brookfield in the purchase of Selenta's hotel portfolio, Sixth Street in the purchase of a portfolio of 5 hotels with Pierre et Vacances or Blasson in the aquisition of the Hotel H10 Punta Negra for its conversion into an ultra-luxury Hotel in Mallorca.
Portfolio Advisory: she has advised on the main NPL´s portfolio transactions in the hotel sector in the past years (Octopus, Amazona, Gaudí, Castle, Whale, Traveller, Ikaria, Quasar) making valuations of Hotels and Debts for an amount greater than 2bn euros. In 2021, she led the advice to Cairn Capital in the purchase from Banco Santander of a portfolio of loans secured by 11 Grupo Hesperia Hotels.
Financial Reestructuring and refinancing of Real Estate and Hotel Groups for a volumen greater than 1.5 bn euros. In 2021, she advised Intriva Capital in structuring the financing for the refurbishment of the former Byblos Hotel in Mijas (Málaga).
Operator Search, Selection & Contract Negotiation: (management, franchise and lease agreements) highlighting the advise in the franchise of the Novotel Madrid Center (4*-790 rooms the largest Novotel worldwide) or the negotiation of the lease agreement with Panoram Hotel Magement to introduce the Tapestry by Hilton brand in the center of Madrid.
Valuation and Feasibility Studios: he has been involved in the valuation and feasibility studios of innumerable hotel projects in Spain and main European capitals, highlighting the participation in the valuation of landmark properties.
Education
Bachelors degree in Law and Business Administration and Management from the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas (ICADE E-3).

In 2017 Gonzalo joined Colliers as Director of the Hotel Team. Previously he had developed his profesional career at Irea´s hotel team for nine years.
Gonzalo has a financial backgroud which allows him to provide advisory services to Hotel and Real Estate companies in transactions (sell-side & buy-side), financial restructuring, search for financing, valuation of NPL´s portfolios, design of strategic plans to Hotel and Real Estate companies, hotel operator search and contract negotiation, feasibility analysis and hotel valuations.
Tamara Alonso joined irea's, currently Colliers International Corporate Finance, Hotels Division in 2012 , having previously worked at MCH Private Equity. During her first two and a half years in the Company, she perfomed advisory services on the sale and purchase of hotel assets and portfolios, operator searches, feasibility analysis, valuations, market reaserch and other consultancy projects. She then continued her career at Servihabitat Servicios Inmobiliario's Corporate Development department for another two years and a half where she performed works based on developing new business lines for the Company, advisory on the acquisition of all type of real estate asset and debt portfolios for renowned international funds, key account roles, and participation in potential merger and acquisition transactons in the servicing sector. She rejoined Colliers International Corporate Finance's Hotels Division in December 2017 as Senior Analyst and is now Associate Director.
Alicia Saiz joined irea's, currently Colliers International Corporate Finance, in 2015. She works in Corporate Finance's Hotels Division as Associate Director taking part in the advisory of the sale and purchase of debt and REO portfolios with hotel and other Real Estate collaterals, transaction of hotels and portfolios, hotels valuation, asset management and other consultancy projects. She is an expert in valuations, urban planning, market analysis and design / feasibility of development projects.
Alicia started its professional career at Idealista Data developing new business lines for the company.
Eduardo joined irea, currently Colliers international Spain, in 2016 where he works as a Senior Analyst in the Hotels Division. Since he joined irea, he has taken part in the advisory of the sale and purchase of hotels and debt portfolios, valuation, market research and other consultancy projects.
Ignacio is Associate Director in Colliers' hotel division. Since joining Colliers in 2017, he has participated in financial advisory projects for investment funds and private investors in the sale of Real Estate and hotel debt portfolios, sell-side and buy-side transactions of hotel assets and companies, search for financial partners and development of strategic alliances for investment in the hotel sector, hotel operator search processes, as well as consultancy projects, search for financing and market analysis.
