Lau Melchiorsen is leaving Colliers after years as head of Occupier Services. The new head is Ulrich Reckert, who has been with the very same team for eight years.
As of 1 May 2022, Occupier Services, offering advisory services relating to office leases and optimisation, has appointed a new head. The current head and partner in Colliers, Lau Melchiorsen, has decided to resign at his own request.
“I have truly enjoyed my time with Colliers and with my co-workers. But having worked hard for many years, I have now reached a point where I find that the time is right, both for my team and for me personally, to hand over the reins. It is important for me to emphasise that this is my own decision entirely, motivated by my desire to be free to travel, to spend time with my family and just take a break,” explains Lau Melchiorsen.
Lau Melchiorsen joined Sadolin & Albæk in 2009, which company merged with Colliers in 2018. He has been an important driving force behind the development of Occupier Services, says Carsten Gørtz Petersen, CEO.
“Thanks to Lau’s great commitment and efforts to develop tenant representation into a core business, Occupier Services today enjoys a strong position with a broad customer base. I therefore regret Lau’s decision but of course fully understand it. We find it important to offer opportunities to all Colliers staff, and this also applies to the partner group, where we see replacements and change as a natural part of our business.”
“The call for advisory services relating to office space optimisation and design has only become more pronounced during the pandemic. In recent years, Lau has been responsible for transforming the scope of Occupier Services to include project management, workplace solutions and legal assistance – in addition to cost management, which remains a key component of Occupier Services. I am therefore delighted to see that Lau is handing over a fighting fit team to Ulrich Reckert, who based on his broad experience and customer relations will work to retain and enhance our market position in the years ahead,” says Carsten Gørtz Petersen.
Colliers appointed a new partner last year when Anders Holm joined the partner group in September. As from 1 May 2022, the partner group counts 10 Danish members in addition to Colliers EMEA, the majority stakeholder in Colliers in Denmark.
