Iconic office property on the Copenhagen waterfront in the Nordhavn district has been acquired by Hines Nordics. Colliers facilitated the sale on behalf of domestic pension funds ATP, PensionDanmark and PFA.
Portland Towers with its characteristic twin towers is one of the most prominent and prestigious office landmarks in Copenhagen. Originally built by Aalborg Portland for the storage of cement, the property was in 2014 converted into an NCC Company House with emphasis on sustainability and flexible space utilisation. Comprising approx 11,000 sq m office space, the property today houses e.g. the German Embassy and corporate finance advisory firm FIH Partners. Portland Towers is situated on the waterfront at Sandkaj in the area called Århusgadekvarteret, part of the Copenhagen district of Nordhavn (the North Harbour), which has become a highly popular office location in recent years, also thanks to the opening of metro stations in the area.
The buyer is international property company Hines, with offices in 225 locations across 25 countries. In 2015, Hines expanded in the Nordics. Today, the company owns properties in both Denmark, Norway and Finland.
