Domestic property investor Jeudan just announced its acquisition of two Copenhagen investment properties in the first quarter of 2019. The properties in question are a parking facility in the city centre, Christiansbro Parking, and Rygaards Allé 131 in Hellerup, north of Copenhagen, let to International School of Hellerup. The combined purchase price was DKK 206 million. Both transactions were facilitated by Colliers.
Christiansbro Parking is located at Wildersgade/Johan Semps Gade in one of the Copenhagen districts, Christianshavn, where parking is in particularly strong demand.
“Even now it is difficult to find a place to park in this district. If the number of cars continues to grow at this pace, the situation is not likely to improve in future. In today’s Copenhagen market for parking spaces, there is a supply/demand imbalance. If anything, an investment in parking facilities involves exceptionally low risk”, says Jacob Bruun Borring, Manager, Capital Markets, Colliers.
Christiansbro Parking comprises 8,215 sq m space and 314 parking spaces.
The property at Rygaards Allé 131 has a total GLA of 5,545 sq m. The tenant is International School of Hellerup, running a school on the premises. In addition, the property features two residential units of 157 sq m space combined.
“This former office building was comprehensively refurbished in 2015. Today, it is let to International School of Hellerup on a long tenancy agreement, meaning that the school will remain in the property for many years to come”, explains Søren Skovbjerg, Associate, Colliers.
