Residential/commercial mix properties are Germany's most important type of residential property, representing more than half of the country's entire residential stock and indispensable for most city dwellers. The share of the German population living in urban areas has increased to over 75% at the turn of the millennium and this trend is set to continue. Investor interest has also grown as a result: The amount of investment capital being poured into the multifamily housing segment has more than doubled over the past 10 years.
