Duesseldorf: Office Leasing H1 2020

Download Report
The public sector accounted for one third of total take up on the Düsseldorf market in H1 2020. Most companies across all sectors maintained their wait and see stance, as the full economic impact of the pandemic remains unknown. This uncertainty could especially be seen in the trend in office take up by consulting firms, which tend to rank high in Düsseldorf but accounted for less than 4,000 sqm in take up in Q2. We can expect the number of lease extensions and subletting activity to continue to rise in the second half of the year. Office take up is likely to come in below average for 2020 as a whole. However, taking into account data from previous crises, we can still expect annual take up to reach at least 265,000 sqm.
