Founded in 1953 and headquartered in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, China Railway First Survey and Design Institute Group is one of the first large-scale comprehensive railroad survey and design units established after the founding of the People’s Republic of China. Its business scope covers the whole process and industrial chain, including engineering, planning, surveying, design, consulting, supervision, general contracting and property, capital operation and comprehensive property development, as well as other related processes. It has China’s National Engineering Design Comprehensive A-level Qualification and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Railway Construction.

Relying on the strong technical and talent advantages of the Group, its subsidiary, the Institute of Urban Railway and Architectural Design (China Urban Construction Design & Research Institute), focuses on the survey and design market of large and medium-sized stations, industrial and civil construction projects, and property development along domestic ordinary railroads, passenger dedicated lines, intercity railroads, urban railroads, tourist railways and other projects, as well as overseas markets.

These projects are distributed in more than 20 cities across China and covering general contracting of survey and design, general contracting of overall design, civil engineering design, system design and pre-design work.

From the perspective of project operations, the key to achieve cost control and development efficiency is the effective cooperation between engineering and planning design, which is an opportunity to realize healthier and sustainable development between the two enterprises. We hope that Colliers and China Urban Construction Design & Research Institute can work even more closely with each other to complement advantages of each other and create greater value in the future.

Project planning is like building a theoretical structure. Converting the theoretical structure into a feasible and implementable project requires effective communication and cooperation between engineering consultation and planning design. We believe that both of us will be able to gain higher influence and expertise through the cooperation in business fields such as urban rail transportation, station-city integration, and urban area development, etc.
