After the sale of the site in Grimbergen, Jacobs Douwe Egberts decided to look for a new location to settle their business. This new place became the 1st floor of the Buro & Design Center in Strombeek.

Near to public transport which was of big importance to them. Colliers also investigated the degree of occupancy, the number of square meters needed, next to archiving and stock needs.

Goals:

  • Validation of the new office concept (number of workstations, meeting rooms, bubbles)
  • Corporate Identity & Core Business JDE translated into the new work environment,
  • Coordination of the reconstruction of the floor (from Casco situation) with new techniques and fit-out specifically for JDE

Methodology:

  • Creation of the plans as per the defined concept
  • Choosing finishes and decorative elements to create an environment that reflects the values of JDE
  • Selection of the new furniture
  • Follow-up of the works until the final reception and move

Results:

A new work environment that responds to the new organization and where they work according to the activity-based principle.

Bart started his career in the BAM holding constructiongroup in Antwerp, where he worked as a projecmanager in tunnelling and fit out works for 10 years.

In 1998 he began to work for DBAssociates, AOS which became Colliers in 2014. Now he is a associate director in the  design and build department (construction monitoring, coordination and execution, administrative and technical assistance, budget and planning follow up, coordination of client’s project)
