Billy is a commercial real estate broker specializing in retail properties with an emphasis in retail development and landlord/owner representation. As a Charleston native, he has witnessed the area's growth, development, and conservation issues over the past twenty plus years.
Ellison's experience and knowledge in land use, zoning, entitlement, due diligence, environmental issues, development processes, and marketing, provides clients with an excellent resource for the acquisition and disposition of their properties. Billy spent his early career as Director of Sales for a local urban forestry business where he sold their services to major builders and developers. Earlier in his career, he worked for the Policy Director of the Society of American Foresters in Washington, D.C. where he collaborated with congressional representatives to promote the interest of forestry professionals.
Ellison is a graduate of The University of Tennessee, Knoxville with a BS in Forestry. He has been trained in land development processes by the foremost land use and urban planning association, the Urban Land Institute. Additionally, he has completed course work administered by the Realtor Land Institute. Additionally, he is a candidate for the Accredited Land Consultant(ALC) designation, administered by the Realtor Land Institute and the Certified Commercial Investment Member Institute (CCIM) designation. Billy is actively involved with Habitat for Humanity and Young Life Ministry for high school students.
