Bill Cutler has been in the real estate industry for over twenty years. He has managed, marketed, and leased multiple office buildings in Miami totaling over 1.5 million square feet as well represented tenants in their search and construction of office space. Since joining Colliers Abood Wood-Fay in December of 2000, Mr. Cutler has been responsible for the marketing and leasing of five office properties totaling over 750,000 square feet.
Most recently, Mr. Cutler brought his Downtown Miami property, Courthouse Tower, from forty-six percent occupancy to over eighty percent in just nine months time, leasing over 80,000 square feet. During that time he executed a creative and unique marketing approaches to leasing with immediate results.
Working in Downtown Miami is nothing new to Cutler, though. In 1983, he assumed the leasing and marketing responsibilities at One Biscayne Tower, a 600,000 square foot tower in Miami’s central business district. Under his direction, the property outperformed the market and maintained its status as a class “A” property in a market of new, competing office buildings.
Cutler’s managerial responsibilities included supervising a building staff of over 25 employees and contract staff engaged in the construction, maintenance, security, etc. and day to day operations in the building. Additional responsibilities included overseeing the negotiation of office & retail lease transactions, renewals and terminations with international and Fortune 500 companies. Mr. Cutler had local responsibility for the economic success of the property.
Following Mr. Cutler’s association with One Biscayne Tower, he started a full service real estate company and was eventually recruited by local government to head a team that would coordinate the relocation of the US Southern Command from Panama to Miami, Florida. This project included the organization and relocation of 900 service personnel and well as a significant civilian population that accompanied the US Military Base relocation. Mr. Cutler worked with the US Army Corps of Engineers to identify and build a 200,000 square foot Operations Command Center for the US Military.
Mr. Cutler began his commercial real estate career in 1979 upon graduation from Arizona State University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Real Estate. Cutler worked in the development of suburban office buildings until moving to Miami, Florida in 1983 and joined The Allen Morris Real Estate Company.
