Mr. Barnett focuses primarily on leasing transactions and acquisitions and dispositions of manufacturing facilities and warehouses for industrial clients in the Houston area. He was appointed a Senior Vice President in 2007, and was honored in the Houston office of Colliers International as a top five revenue producer in 2008.
Prior to joining Colliers, Mr. Barnett graduated from the Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Management at Rice University. While earning an MBA, he worked as a Marketing Specialist for Federal Express Asia/Pacific in the firm’s Hong Kong office. Prior to graduate school, Mr. Barnett served for four years on the staff of United States Senator Bill Frist (now retired Senate Majority Leader) in Washington, DC. For the majority of his tenure with the Senator, Mr. Barnett held the position of Legislative Assistant.

Mr. Barnett received an MBA from the Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Management at Rice University in May 2002. He also holds a BA from Vanderbilt University. Achievements
On January 28, 2009, Mr. Barnett received the professional designation of Industrial Specialist, Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR). In February 2008, Mr. Barnett won the coveted “Industrial Rising Star” award from the Houston Chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP).The honor recognized his revenue production, community involvement, and leadership among his peers in the industrial segment of the commercial real estate business. Mr. Barnett has also won the “Power Broker” award for leasing transaction volume in previous years. Mr. Barnett is a candidate for the CCIM professional designation. Mr. Barnett is a past president of Afton Oaks Civic Club, and is an elected director of Grand Mission Municipal Utility District #2. He also serves on the Affordable Housing Committee of The Women’s Home.
