As Vice President of Colliers Pinkard, Mr. Weiss serves as an integral part of the company’s Investment Services Group. Mr. Weiss focuses on investment sales and in the sourcing and placement of equity and debt for real estate transactions. Mr. Weiss has a particular specialty practice dealing in Multi-Family transactions, and as Colliers Pinkards Multi-Family expert has earned recognition and expertise as a National Director and Steering Committee member for the elite Colliers National Multi-Family Advisory Group (CMAG).
Mr. Weiss’ responsibilities include the management of complete real estate transactions from conception through final disposition and the structuring of “out-of-the-box” equity and debt requirements for sophisticated transaction consummation. Niche applications and areas of expertise include sale-lease backs, pre-sales, equity partnering, joint ventures, earn-outs, fee developments, venture financing, structured finance, mezzanine/bridge loans, construction/perm loans, participating debt, off-balance sheet finance applications, permanent loan sourcing/placement, synthetic leases and government loans. Mr. Weiss has been able to efficiently analyze an objective, develop a strategy, set goals and execute the strategy to achieve the desired results.
Additionally, Mr. Weiss has strong relationships in the finance community, particularly in pension funds, REITs, life companies, endowments, off-shore investors, high net worth individual investors, investment banking firms, Wall Street lenders, commercial banks, private investors, owners and developers.
Over the past 48 months, Mr. Weiss has been involved in 42 transactions totaling over $480 million with clients that include Highwoods Properties, Corporate Office Properties Trust, CIBC, Health and Retirement Properties Trust, GE Capital, J.P. Morgan, TIAA CREF, Transwestern Investment Corporation, Saks Fifth Avenue, ADP, Health Care Property Investors, Self Storage Plus, and BP Amoco to name a few.
A former Principal, Senior Vice President/Partner of Preston Partners, Inc. of Baltimore, Mr. Weiss was responsible for investment sales, venture finance, equity/debt placement, project/deal sourcing, financial analysis, consensus building and staff management. The 11-member company was founded in 1992 and is a well-known and respected niche firm.
Mr. Weiss is active in several civic organizations including a member of the Advisory Council for the South Baltimore Learning Center; founding member and officer of the Greater Baltimore Forum; committee member for Child and Family Services, special events volunteer for Roland Park Country School and Calvert School; a committee member for Living Classrooms Foundation and an assistnt coach for the Lutherville Rec League and Towsontown Rec Council.
