Simon has over 25 years of experience providing property advisory and development services in Thailand and Southeast Asia.

He specialises in structuring and implementing complex acquisitions and dispositions, development consultancy, asset management and valuation. 

He has developed and managed projects throughout Thailand, including developing resort condominium projects in Pattaya, hotels in Phuket and condominiums and industrial properties in Bangkok.

He was in charge of research, valuation and consultancy at Richard Ellis before heading a subsidiary company specialising in residential agency with Siam City Bank.  He later set up his own firm that became Cushman & Wakefield Thailand, where he was CEO then Chairman and later Managing Director of a private equity property fund, Orchid Property Fund, considered one of the most successful investors in Thai real estate after the 1997 financial crisis.

As Executive Chairman of Colliers International Thailand, Simon is responsible for establishing and developing Colliers’ operations in Bangkok and the agency’s coverage throughout Thailand.

Simon is also a member of the International Valuation Standards Board, a Fellow of RICS, a member of RICS Asia Valuation Board, and chaired RICS Thailand and has been on the RICS Asia Board and advises the Thai SEC on valuation and property fund development.

He has lectured extensively in Thailand and throughout Asia, including at Thailand’s Chulalongkorn and Thammasat Universities and the National University of Singapore.

He is an independent director of AIM-listed Vietname Property Fund.

Accomplishments

  Acquisition of $50 million in distressed asset portfolios, including industrial, residential and hotels

·      Established several public REITs specialising in office and industrial properties

·   Structuring and analysis  of loan loss portfolio for $1.5 billion bond issue for Thai commercial bank, and due diligence on various bank portfolios for acquisition by international banks and funds

·     Disposition of $200 million portfolio of non-performing assets and asset management of bank distressed asset portfolio

·      Several hundred feasibility studies and valuations in all property market sectors, including master planning for large communities
