AREA OF EXPERTISE
As a Vice President of Colliers International, Michael Gelfman focuses on tenant representation, owner representation and sales to investors and owners of real estate. His consultative approach and successful track record has earned him the respect of his peers as well as his clients throughout the Twin Cities metropolitan area.  Michael’s in-depth knowledge and understanding of the local commercial real estate market along with his tireless work ethic ensure his clients make smart real estate decisions. He identifies a clear understanding of his clients’ objectives as he implements a thorough strategy within every detail of the assignment. Since joining Colliers in 1999, Michael has completed over 400 transactions with a total consideration of $600 million and has consistently been one of Colliers’ top-producing office brokers.

Michael is proud to have been a past board member of the Minnesota Commercial Association of Realtors (MNCAR) and also served on its Executive Committee. As President of the Minnesota Commercial Property Exchange (MCPE), Michael was responsible for guiding one of the nation’s most comprehensive commercial real estate research databases.

PROFESSIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Hamline University, the oldest school in the state of Minnesota, was renting space in Minneapolis as part of their overall campus expansion in the Twin Cities. With the main campus in St. Paul, Hamline was renting temporary space in Minneapolis and found the need to expand their square footage in the Minneapolis area as they were quickly running out room. Michael utilized the Colliers’ in-house research capabilities to undergo an extensive search of the area, analyzing all available spaces and the possibility of converting spaces to accommodate Hamline’s MBA program. Michael and his team negotiated lease rates and other deal terms along with providing advisory assistance through the duration of the project by working with architects to design potential layouts and working with the construction contractor through project completion. This resulted in Hamline University signing a 10-year lease on a 32,473 square foot space with building signage. This new space is allowing Hamline to better serve their MBA students and expand into the future.
