AREA OF EXPERTISE Michael T. Fay is known as a business development rainmaker. He has a key role as a relationship driver and decision maker. On a national level, Michael spearheads and is a founder of the firm’s Note Sales Team, Colliers Asset Resolution Team (CART) and Colliers Automotive Real Estate Services (CARS) Group. He is also a member of the Distressed Property Services Group and Colliers Investment Services Group (CISG). He is also a member of a corporate land sales team that handles surplus properties. Michael has over 28 years of work out experience. Over the course of his career, he has closed over $3 billion in transactions. Michael specializes in REO and note sales, as well as strategy and implementation for large national corporate real estate accounts. He works with lenders, special servicers, institutional and local owners, private investors, REITs, hedge funds, national and local banks, insurance companies, bankruptcy courts and commercial debt restructuring firms. He has extensive knowledge and experience in banking as a past founder and director of a community bank. BUSINESS BACKGROUND Prior to the formation Colliers International South Florida, Michael was President of the Wood-Fay Realty Group. Prior to the inception of Wood-Fay Realty Group, Michael was a principal salesperson in development and management at the Fort Lauderdale office of Hopkins-Easton & Associates. He began his real estate career as an Executive Management Associate for the Lennar Corporation. Besides his real estate career, Michael is an avid surfer and a nationally and world ranked champion, sponsored wakeboarder. In 2009 he placed third in the Veteran’s Division of the World Wakeboarding Association’s National Championship and more recently he finished third in the Veteran’s Division in the WWA’s World Championships.
