Marshall Clinkscales joined Colliers International in 2008, bringing more than 36 years experience in commercial real estate. For 27 years prior to joining Colliers, Marshall owned and operated MSC Properties, Inc., the Houston-based commercial real estate company he established in 1981. MSC Properties represented a broad scope of clients from corporations to small businesses in leasing, development, property management and investment sales. Marshall has extensive experience in retail site selection representing national clients including Burger King, Golden Corral Restaurants, Firestone, CVS Pharmacy, Walgreen’s, HEB Grocery Stores, Family Dollar Stores, Texas Citizens Bank, and Auto Zone.

In addition to excelling in the competitive retail industry, Marshall successfully worked in asset management services. The Houston area properties of Security Benefit Life Insurance Company, based in Topeka, Kansas, represented one of his most significant asset management portfolios with services including the management, leasing, redevelopment, and ultimately, brokerage of his client’s assets.

Marshall’s career in commercial real estate extends to office tenant representation, land acquisitions and development. Key office clients include Litton Loan Servicing, L.P. and Cornerstone Mortgage Company, with responsibility for many of Cornerstone’s branch offices locally and nationally. Marshall has also represented investors acquiring land for development and income-producing properties. A recent land transaction involved the purchase of just over 126 acres of retail land at Beltway 8 and Fairmont Parkway, recognized as one of Southeast Houston’s most dynamic retail areas. Of this total, approximately 84 acres were subsequently sold to the Trammell Crow Company for retail power centers and to CVS Pharmacy, with the remainder under development for the owner. Among his most notable recent development projects, Marshall completed a medical office building, a Class A office building, and a retail center for clients.

Education
Marshall received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Abilene Christian University. From 1966 to 1972, he served as a pilot in the U.S. Air Force, including flying 257 combat missions in Vietnam for which he received numerous decorations, including the Distinguished Flying Cross with Oak Leaf Cluster, Bronze Star and thirteen Air Medals.

Marshall has been an active member and served on the board of numerous civic and business organizations, including being past president of the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce. He is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and the Houston Association of Realtors (HAR).

Community Involvement
Marshall is a member of Second Baptist Church in Houston. An avid sports fan, he has coached in West University’s Little League.
