Colliers International helps steer Siemens win power to Hull

Colliers International has worked with Siemens Real Estate on the site selection process of the UK’s first off-shore wind turbine assembly plant at Alexandra Docks in Hull.

Siemens has selected Associated British Ports’ (ABP) site in Hull for its £80m manufacturing plant, which will cover the UK Government Round 3 off-shore wind farm zones, as well as other countries in the North West European Siemens cluster. The factory is expected to create close to 10,000 local jobs and is a hugely significant investment in the East Ridings region.

Paul Scourfield, Director, Building Consultancy at Colliers International, said: “We are delighted to have been able to advise Siemens in the decision process to base its new wind turbine plant at Alexandra Docks.

“Our remit was to provide development strategy services, valuation and investment advice and due diligence, and we were ideally placed to understand Siemens’ requirements and needs due to our knowledge and expertise in the Renewable Energy sector.”
