Career History
Jeff LaFavre, CCIM, MCR, SIOR joined Colliers Turley Martin Tucker (Colliers) in October 2004 as Managing Principal, leading the Twin Cities operations of brokerage, real estate management services, appraisal and corporate solutions.
Prior to joining Colliers, Jeff was Vice President and one of the founding members of the Corporate Real Estate Services division at United Properties from 1994-2004. His primary responsibilities included business development, business retention, and mentoring a team of professionals to service the needs of their corporate and institutional clients.
Jeff began his career in commercial real estate as a marketing agent for the Minneapolis operations of the Trammell Crow Company in 1989.
Education
Jeff graduated cum laude with a B.S. degree in Marketing from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma. While at ORU, Jeff competed on the track team as a middle distance runner and was a member of the National Honor Society and Who’s Who of American College Students. In 1991, Jeff completed his MBA with a finance emphasis from the University of Minnesota, Carlson School of Management.
Community Involvement
Currently Jeff is a steering committee member of the Midwest Chapter of CoreNet Global and the President-Elect of the MNCAR Exchange Board. Jeff also serves as an Executive Board Member for the YMCA of Metropolitan Minneapolis and as a House Committee Member of the Minneapolis Club.
Professional Designations/Accomplishments
In 1995, Jeff earned the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) designation and earned the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation in 1996. Jeff earned the Master of Corporate Real Estate (MCR) designation in 2005.
In 2002, Jeff was recognized in The Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal’s “Forty Under 40” list, which features local business leaders under the age of 40.
Jeff has served as Co-Chair of the CoreNet Global Midwest Chapter and Co-Chair of the Global Chapter Committee at the national level. In 2003 he was president of the Mid-Continent Chapter of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR).
Personal
Jeff and his wife, Maxine, have two children, Landon and Lauren. Jeff and his family are actively involved with their church, where Jeff currently serves as a board member. In his spare time Jeff enjoys playing golf, coaching community basketball and track, reading and traveling with his family.
