Henry is a Senior Brokerage Associate in the Columbia, South Carolina office of Colliers International. He specializes in office leasing and corporate portfolio real estate solutions for landlords and tenants, and is credited with the turnaround repositioning of two downtown office buildings and a high-profile suburban office park.
Prior to joining Colliers in 2007, Henry was Vice President of Corporate Real Estate for Smith Barney Real Estate Group in New York, overseeing a national transaction team with responsibilities in excess of $100 million per annum. Prior to joining Citibank, Henry also lent his expertise to New York-based Atlantic Mutual Insurance Company where he directed leasing and facilities management teams responsible for Wall Street headquarters, suburban office park operation centers and the national office platform.
Since joining Colliers, Henry has collaborated with SC economic development and national brokerage teams and is credited with winning transactions that have brought over 1,500 new jobs to South Carolina. He has guided REIT and private equity ownership in repositioning several office buildings in the Columbia market, including a 300,000 square foot, 20 story office building where his leasing and disposition work culminated in the $20 million sale of the building. In 2010, Henry brokered the strategic repostitioning of 400 Laurel Street, a 175,000 square foot office building. These achievements were followed in 2011 and 2012 with the lease-up and sale of Class A suburban office park Centerpoint I & II with long-term headquarters and industry benchmark transactions.
A Life Member of the CCRA’s Circle of Excellence, Henry is a two-time recipient of the Commercial Transaction of the Year Award from the Central Carolina REALTORS® Association, receiving the recognition in 2010 and 2011. He is also a recipient of the 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013 Colliers International Superior Achievement Award and was recognized in those years by CoStar as a Power Broker for his landlord and tenant representation work. Henry is the incoming 2012-2014 President of the Commercial Investment Division of the CCRA, and represents the Central Carolina Commercial Brokers Committee on the CCRA Presidential Advisory Group.
Henry was recently featured as a guest speaker at a 2012 South Carolina Urban Land Institute real estate forum.
Henry currently sits on the Palmetto Hospital Foundation Board, the Columbia City Center Partnership (CCP) Five Year Strategic Planning Committee and the Historic Columbia Foundation Advisory Board where he was awarded the 2011 and 2013 Creative Leadership Award. He is past chair of the Columbia CCP Main Street Public Art Initiative, is a past Facilities and Development Advisory Committee Member of the Columbia YMCA, and is past Chair of the Development Committee of the Palmetto Hospital.
