Colliers International has evolved from enterprising, independent local business owners to an organization of more than 16,000 skilled professionals around the world with executive headquarters in Toronto, Ontario and global headquarters in Seattle, Washington. As we grew, we continued to seek out partners who shared our common values and spirit of enterprise.

Client Services Strengthens

2016

Colliers expands its project and building consultancy operations in the UK and Western Europe with the acquisition of Bollingbrook Limited.

 

Colliers strengthens its European asset management and advisory operations with the acquisition of ICADE Asset Management and ICADE Conseil in France.

 

Colliers acquires affiliates across the states of Florida, Michigan and New York, including offices in Long Island.

 

The addition of NYC-based Gorton & Partners strengthens the project and development management platform.

 

Colliers rings NASDAQ's Closing Bell to commemorate its first year as a stand-alone public company.

 

Colliers builds its investment and office agency practice through the acquisition of Hatton Real Estate in Central London.

 

Addition of WPM Groep NV further strengthens Colliers' property and asset management platform and enhances operations in EMEA.

 

Colliers acquires Groupe Immobilier and expands into Niagara Region.

Addition of Leading Investment and Corporate Advisory Firm enhances capabilities in North Africa.

2014

Colliers acquires dominant French business AOS group, strengthening key operationss in Europe.

 

Colliers acquires Briant Champion Long, a UK retail property specialist. Colliers acquires H2SO, one of London's leading independent commercial property specialists.

 

Colliers acquires Property Partners, an established property and facility management company in Hungary.

 

Colliers brings the entire NAI Commercial Team to the Regina, Canada operations.

 

Colliers acquires McKenzie Hall in Australia.

2013

Colliers becomes the first global real estate firm to enter Myanmar.

 

Mexico City operations expand.

 

Colliers acquires offices in Germany.

 

Colliers acquires Urban Properties in the Netherlands, an established boutique advisor in asset management, property management and project management.

2010

The Colliers International brand is united, with all partner firms committed to working under a single brand.

2009

Colliers expands into Panama. Colliers International operates in over 290 offices in 61 countries, with over 11,000 employees.

2005

Colliers expands into Costa Rica.

2002

Colliers expands into Peru.

2001

$1B

For the first time, revenue of Colliers tops $1 billion. Colliers ranks first in the world in terms of global reach, second in revenue, third in employees, and fourth in property under management.

 

1997

Colliers International sponsors an expedition to the summit of Mount Everest. Canadian climbers Alan Hobson and Jamie Clarke reach the top on May 23, 1997.

 

Colliers expands into Brazil.

'91-'95

Colliers begins Latin America expansion with the additon of Colliers Lomelin.

The real estate operation of the Jardine Matheson Group merges with the Australian and New Zealand offices of Colliers International, giving the company a major step into a key market.

 

Colliers expands into South America, adding partners in Latin America as expansion into Eastern Europe flourishes.

1990

Pioneers in Eastern Europe, Colliers reconfigures its European coverage by establishing offices throughout the region while exporting and developing talent in the new markets of the former Eastern bloc.

 

1986

Colliers now operates in 20 markets worldwide.

1984

Colliers International officially joins forces with Macaulay Nicolls Maitland, accelerating the shift towards a global approach.

1980

Colliers expands into the UK.

1978


International expansion swells between 1978 and 1980. New offices open in Hong Kong, New Zealand, Singapore and Malaysia.

 

1977

John McLernon takes the helm of Macaulay Nicolls Maitland in 1977. Over the next 25 years he builds the company into a global enterprise.

 

Tony Petty & Associates, based in Hong Kong, joins Colliers to create Colliers International.

1976

Colliers Group is founded from the collaboration of Collier McCuaig Lty Ltd, Collier Glynn Lynch & McHarg Pty Ltd, and Collier Duncan & Cook. The name is a tribute to Ronald Collier, a pioneer in the Australian real estate industry and mentor to the firms' owners. Colliers Property Consultants rapidly grows throughout the Asia Pacific and Canada on an independently owned referral platform.

Ronald Maitland becomes a partner, and the name becomes Macaulay Nicolls Maitland (MNM).

1898

A small group of entrepreneurs founds Macaulay Nicolls, a real estate, property management and insurance agency in Vancouver, Canada.

Our local history

Our local Fort Bend office was founded in 1995 by Kolbe Curtice by the name of Curtice Commercial Real Estate and in 2010 joined Colliers International. As a longstanding commercial real estate power player in Fort Bend County, the merger created a strong alliance and an unwavering commitment in providing excellent service to clients.

In 2014, IronStone Realty Advisors, a full-service commercial real estate brokerage company, joined the Colliers | Fort Bend team.  As a result, Colliers is able to even further expand our unmatched local presence and knowledge in Sugar Land and Fort Bend County, down to South Texas in the Eagle Ford Shale. Barkley Peschel, president of IronStone brings over fifteen years of experience in real estate, economic development, and government relations.

Our local Houston office was founded in 1957 by Leslie L. Appelt and in 1994 joined Colliers International as a shareholder firm known as Colliers Appelt Womack, Incorporated. In 2000, their name changed to Colliers International to better reflect the evolution of Colliers’ global breadth in commercial real estate services.

In total, Colliers International now has over 56 experienced agents in the Greater Houston Area active in office, industrial, retail, multi-family, investment and land brokerage. We also have a strong property management capability with a current portfolio of over four million square feet.
