Before merging with Colliers International in 2014, Barkley owned and operated a successful full-service commercial real estate brokerage company in Sugar Land (Fort Bend County).

In 2010, Barkley established IronStone Realty Advisors, a boutique commercial real estate firm serving the Houston region and beyond with a strategic focus on Fort Bend County and the Eagle Ford Shale region in South Texas. In 2014, he merged IronStone with the Fort Bend County office of Colliers International, where he currently serves as Vice President. Barkley serves as President of the Fort Bend Society of Commercial Realtors and is a Board Member on the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce. He also is a co-founder of the Fort Bend CORPS, a nonprofit organization that provides free home repairs for elderly and disabled low-income homeowners in Fort Bend County.
