– Colliers International stood out in the brokerage community at the annual Association of Silicon Valley Brokers (ASVB) awards banquet, hosted at the DoubleTree Hotel in downtown San Jose on Thursday, February 26, 2015. The ASVB is an organization of real estate brokers and salespeople, dedicated to the promotion of high standards in the industrial/commercial brokerage field.
Colliers International brokers were recognized throughout the night with finalists in four award categories. Bob Rowland
, Executive Vice President in Colliers International's San Jose office was recognized as a runner-up for the Land Broker of the Year Award. Rowland has previously been honored as the Land Broker of the year in 2013 and 1990. Senior Vice President Susan Gregory, SIOR
also from Colliers' San Jose office, was recognized at this year's award banquet as runner-up for the Office Broker of the Year Award. Gregory completed 117 transactions totaling more than 1.0 million square feet, and $206 million in total consideration during 2014.
Industry veteran John Machado
received a great honor during the event and was awarded Retail Broker of the Year for his achievements in 2014. Throughout his 29-year career, Machado has brokered approximately 1,800 lease and sale transactions, specializing in retail properties and in the Santa Clara Valley. Machado is a twelve-time recipient of the ASVB Retail Broker of the Year Award and is also a member of the ASVB Hall of Fame.
Ed Hofer, SIOR
, Senior Vice President at Colliers International, received one of the final awards of the evening. Hofer was recognized for his continued achievements throughout his career and was inducted into the ASVB Hall of Fame. The criteria for the ASVB Hall of fame includes more than 20 years in the business and total transaction volume in excess of $1.0 billion. During his 29 years in the commercial real estate business, Hofer has completed over 780 transactions totaling more than 19.5 million square feet. He is a member of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors. He has also been the recipient of many prestigious industry awards including a two-time recipient of the ASVB Industrial Broker of the Year Award, in 2006 and 2012.
Finally, Colliers International agents were collectively recognized for their 100% participation in the ASVB's Broker Challenge Award, and for donating more than $8,000.00 to charities supported by the ASVB. In addition to supporting its membership, the ASVB is a charitable organization and the awards banquet included charitable donations totaling more than $176,000.00. Amongst the charities supported by ASVB are: Next Door-Solutions to Domestic Violence, Family Supportive Housing, JW House, and Project Hired. 100% of the money raised in connection with the ASVB Awards banquet is donated to charity.
