Gilley Joins Western Institutional Investment Team
Capital Markets veteran will be based in San Francisco
SAN FRANCISCO, CA, May 25, 2016 — In a continuing campaign to assert its expertise in the capital markets arena throughout the West, Colliers International (NASDAQ:CIGI, TSX:CIG) today announced that industry veteran Robert Gilley has joined its Institutional Investment team as Executive Vice President. He will be based in the firm’s San Francisco office and will focus on institutional clients in the office and R&D markets throughout the West.
“I’m looking forward to Colliers’ well-known entrepreneurial and nimble culture that puts clients’ needs first,” said Gilley, who is a 20-year industry veteran with a career that has included senior roles in other major competing commercial real estate firms. “I have known and worked with several professionals at Colliers for years and know that I will be quickly integrated into the company’s collaborative culture.”
Gilley’s appointment is the latest of several high-profile additions the firm has made in its Institutional Investment Division. Earlier this month, the firm added Executive Managing Director Robert Stamm, an accomplished international capital markets expert, and his team. In addition, Stamm will play a key role in the firm’s National Institutional Investment Division focusing on business development and recruiting.
In April, the firm reported that senior capital markets advisor Michael Roberts had joined its Institutional Investment Division as a Managing Director based in San Diego, focusing on representing institutional owners of office and R&D properties throughout the West.
“One of our strategic goals in the West has been to recruit and retain the most accomplished brokers in all categories of commercial real estate, but particularly in the highly specialized arena of capital markets,” said Martin Pupil, president of Colliers’ Western Region. “Bob has expertise of working on some of the most complicated transactions, building strong relationships with clients, and we’re looking forward to welcoming him to our service-oriented capital markets platform.”
Gilley, along with Stamm and Roberts, and their teams, now join the highly respected and well-accomplished existing Colliers Capital Markets platform in the West comprised of industry leaders Rick Putnam and Bret Hardy, who both serve as Managing Directors.
“Since the national market is transitioning to a knowledge-based economy powered by technology companies, and the center of the new economy in the West,” added Regional Executive Managing Director Alan Collenette, who oversees the firm’s San Francisco, Marin and Sacramento offices. “Strengthening our already considerable resources in capital markets with the best and the brightest has been an important part of our strategy and Bob fits in perfectly helping our team achieve so much more in the years to come.”
