In a strategic move that emphatically underscores its stated goal to expand its presence in the nation’s dense urban retail markets, Colliers International today announced that prominent retail broker Julie Taylor and her high-performance team have joined its San Francisco office, effective immediately. Taylor’s reputation is synonymous with prestigious international retailers, top institutional landlords and San Francisco’s Union Square.

Julie Taylor will serve as an Executive Vice President, and will be joined by longtime colleagues Erika Elliott, Stephen Rusher and Tom Neuburger. This gives Colliers an 11-member San Francisco-based specialty retail brokerage team.

Taylor, who most recently served as one of the top retail brokers at Cornish & Carey, has built a reputation as a dominant force in the Bay Area market over the past 25 years. Her achievements include the securing of Apple and its dazzling storefront for the owners of 300 Post Street in Union Square.

“As we have previously stated, it is one of Colliers long-range goals to broaden our retail brokerage platform locally, regionally and nationally, and this move is a vital component of that strategy,” said Regional Executive Managing Director Alan Collenette, who oversees brokerage operations in San Francisco, Marin County and Sacramento. “To accomplish that objective means we will recruit and retain the most successful and talented retail brokers in the industry”.

Taylor, Elliott, Neuburger and Rusher are widely known for representing retailers, investors and property owners in the dense urban retail markets of the City, as well as in the Bay Area’s diverse suburban markets. Taylor’s notable clients have included retailers such as Tiffany, Victoria’s Secret/Limited Brands and CVS, and institutional property owners such as UBS Realty, JP Morgan, La Salle, Shorenstein, Essex, Estate of James Campbell, and Hudson Pacific REIT. Taylor has leased over 600,000 square feet in 50 transactions in the Union Square trade area alone, as well as handling the repositioning and leasing of regional and specialty centers in many of the Bay Area’s suburban markets.

As part of the Taylor team, Stephen Rusher represents 3 million square feet of Class A institutional-grade retail assets throughout the Bay Area, including notable projects such as Bay Street - Emeryville, Broadway Pointe -Walnut Creek, Alameda South Shore Center, and Lone Tree Plaza – Brentwood. Clients include UBS Realty, Donahue Schriber, and Jamestown LP.

“Julie and her colleagues are a stunning addition to our already superb San Francisco bench of retail experts” said Collenette. “This move provides our clients with the most experienced (and largest) team of retail experts in Northern California.”
