NEW YORK, NY – March 30, 2015 – Colliers International has arranged a long-term, 11,652-square-foot lease for proprietary trading broker-dealer Chimera Securities at 27 Union Square West.

Based in New York City, Chimera Securities specializes in trading domestic equities and options, and supports more than 100 professional traders.  The proprietary trading firm is scheduled to relocate from its current Park Avenue South headquarters and occupy the entire fourth floor at the 58,200-square-foot office building at 27 Union Square West this summer, pending build out of the space.

“Chimera Securities was largely attracted to the boutique feel of 27 Union Square West and the property's prime and convenient location at the heart of Union Square,” said Dmitry Levkov, Managing Director at Colliers International, who represented the tenant in the transaction. "The tenant's new office will feature a modern, high-end trading floor and brand new windows installed by ownership."

The landlord, Newmark Holdings, was represented in-house by Eric Gural.

In addition to its New York headquarters, Chimera Securities also maintains offices in Boston, Massachusetts and Boca Raton, Florida. Launched in 2000, the principal trading firm's sophisticated trading platform offers capital allocations, advanced technology, and robust infrastructure.

Situated at the corner of Broadway and East 16th Street, the property at 27 Union Square West is also home to the well-known “Coffee Shop,” surrounded by a wide variety of shopping and restaurants, and easily accessible via the L, N, Q, R, 4, 5, and 6 subway lines.
