NEW YORK, NY – December 15, 2015 – Colliers International announced today that 30+ year industry veteran Bruce Weinberg has joined its New York operations as an Executive Managing Director.

Throughout his career Weinberg has arranged almost $2.5 billion worth of commercial real estate transactions locally, nationally and internationally both for tenants (public and private corporations, law and accounting firms, and entrepreneurial/privately held firms) and property owners (institutional, REITs, investor, family owned, and controlled assets).

In his role with Colliers International, Weinberg will continue to focus on tenant and landlord representation, supporting the brokerage team led by Tri-State Vice Chairman Andrew Roos and Tri-State President Michael T. Cohen.

“We are excited to welcome such an experienced member of New York City’s commercial brokerage community into our growing brokerage division,” said Joseph Harbert, President of Colliers International’s Eastern Region. “With extensive knowledge in navigating large deals and a keen ability to maintain longstanding client relationships, Bruce will be an excellent addition to our firm.”

Among some of Weinberg’s most notable office transactions, he arranged: a 534,000-sf lease, as part of the leasing team, for The United Nations at 380 Madison Avenue, which is being redeveloped and renamed 390 Madison Avenue; a 325,000-sf lease for Universal / Polygram at 825 Eighth Avenue; a 272,000-sf negotiated buyout for Bertelsmann, Inc. at 666 Fifth Avenue; and a 100,000-sf long term retail lease for Bergdorf Goodman at 745 Fifth Avenue.

Weinberg has also represented Mitsui & Co. (USA), Inc. since 1989, successfully arranging more than a dozen transactions totaling over 440,000 square feet of space for the firm nationally, including three lease renewals at 200 Park Avenue in New York City.

Prior to joining Colliers, Weinberg was an Executive Managing Director at DTZ (formerly Cassidy Turley), and before that a Managing Director at CBRE. He holds an accounting degree from Pace University.
