Tom Lagos, a veteran retail investment broker who has played a key role in building Colliers International’s Retail Investment Group in downtown Los Angeles and shaping it into one of the dominant retail brokerage operations in the western U.S., has been promoted to the post of executive vice president, it was announced by Executive Managing Director Hans Mumper.
Lagos, who with his team specializes in the disposition of anchored-retail properties, has been among the company’s top retail brokers since he joined the firm in 2008 as a senior vice president. During his career with Colliers, he and his team have closed 36 transactions valued in excess of $400 million. Overall, Lagos has achieved a total of $1.8 billion in closed transactions during his 20-year retail brokerage career.
“This is a well-earned promotion and comes at a key juncture for our company as we continue to face the challenges of an unpredictable retail economy,” said Mumper. “Not only has he consistently achieved many sales milestones within the company for himself and his team, he also has demonstrated a willingness to help shape one of our most valuable platforms by taking time to share his knowledge and demonstrate his leadership skills as a member of the company’s national retail steering committee.”
During the past two years, Lagos has been among the top 10 percent of retail brokers for Colliers throughout the nation and was named the top retail broker in the United States in 2011. He has twice been inducted into the firm’s “Max Green Circle of Excellence,” which recognizes a select group of Colliers’ top producing sales professionals throughout nation.
Lagos served as director of Retail Services for Colliers Greater Los Angeles Region from 2009-2013 and has been a member of the Colliers National Retail Steering Committee since 2009. He also maintains strong ties to the retail investment industry nationally as a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and as a Certified Commercial Investments Member (CCIM) designee.
