Angela Ruggiero of Simi Valley wanted to play for the Kings and wore her hockey gear to her second-grade career day, unwilling to accept her gender would bar her from the game she loved. Sergei Fedorov grew up in Russia at a time when playing in the NHL wasn't an option and had to defect to the United States to shine in the world's best league.

September 18, 2015- REAL REPORTER - BY MIKE HOBAN - BOSTON — In an effort to address the lack of diversity in the overall make-up of the region’s commercial real estate industry, the Greater Boston Real Estate Board (GBREB) and Foundation Scholarship partner uAspire last spring launched an internship program designed to introduce high-perform-ing students from low income families to CRE. Three college-bound young women – Zashira Arias, Kiana Mendes, and Meitong (Mei) Huang – recently completed their paid summer internships at Colliers International, WinnCompanies and Leggat McCall Properties, respectively, and as a result of the program, at least one of the students is strongly considering a career in the industry.
September 4, 2015 - BY JOE CLEMENTS - FRAMINGHAM — An accomplished residential builder active in the MetroWest has acquired Marist House Retreat Center at 518 Pleasant St., a 28.7-acre religious property whose fate has been debated for years by abutters prior to its $4.05 million purchase this past week by Kevin Giblin of Brendon Properties. Colliers International advised seller Marist Fathers of Boston, whose ownership in the site dates to 1937.
September 4, 2015 - CHARLESTOWN — The scant office space holdings here are leased at a discount to their competition in the Government Center, North Station and downtown districts, but the equally thin inventory of flex/industri-al product carries a higher cachet, as evidenced at the Bunker Hill Business Center where rents are bumping up against $19 per sf triple-net, more than double the going rate on both Route 128 and Interstate 495. Amidst that backdrop, a New York investor has agreed to pay upwards of$280 per sf to secure 440 Rutherford Ave. in a deal being listed exclusively by Colliers International.

August 6, 2015 — The Real Reporter — BY JOE CLEMENTS — BILLERICA — A pair of warehouse buildings here at 14 and 16 Progress Rd. are among a portfolio of five Colony Realty Partners assets totaling more than 400,000 sf being scooped up by Albany Road Real Estate Partners, sources are claiming in the wake of a spirited bidding exercise. The package being listed through Colliers International is expected to reap upwards of $27 million in line with estimates provided this March when its availability was first unveiled by Real Reporter.
August 6, 2015 — The Real Reporter — NEW HAVEN, CT — Colliers International this week reported an assignment for Post Road Residential has been completed in which joint venture equity and construction financing were arranged to fund a 235-unit luxury multifamily project in the city’s East Rock neighborhood. Jeff Black and Kevin Phelan of the Colliers structured finance team in Boston oversaw the assignment.

July 24, 2015 — The Real Reporter — WESTWOOD — In a one-two punch underscoring that land is no longer dirt cheap in metropolitan Boston, Colliers International principal James L. Elcock closed on a pair of second quarter sales totaling in excess of $20 million. The lion’s share came in a 12-acre parcel at 375 Providence Hwy. in Westwood acquired for $16.3 million by Prime Motor Group on which the firm intends to build a dealership housing a trio of motoring models, those being Acura, Audi and Porsche.
July 8, 2015 - The Real Reporter - SOUTHBOROUGH - Route 9 appears to be one ingredient helping this suburban west community attract marquee tenants these days, the latest example being a 33,000-sf commitment in a five-year sublease deal with Hewlett-Packard. The technology firm continues to shift its real estate holdings across New England and was eager to reduce its footprint here just as Colliers International was helping client Veristat accommodate its growth needs by finding a more mainstream home than Holliston.
May 29, 2015 - Boston – At the inaugural Greater Boston Real Estate Board/uAspire Foundation Scholarship Fund Leadership Breakfast held at the Boston Harbor Hotel on Wednesday, commercial real estate luminaries Robert P. Beal and Kevin Phelan were honored, and Mayor Walsh gave an inspiring keynote about the importance of pursuing one’s dreams. What the event was truly about, for and by – was the kids. Hosted by Stephanie Grace and Niki Pelari, two students who were 2013 recipients of GBREB scholarship funding and are now entering their junior years of college. The lion’s share of the breakfast program put the focus where the organizers, honorees and the Mayor knew it belonged – on the students and their stories. That sentiment was echoed by Pelari in his opening remarks.
