Fred Sutherland

Fred Sutherland is the retired Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Aramark Corporation, a position he held from 1997 until 2015.

In this capacity he was responsible for business planning, treasury and financing, financial reporting and control, tax, investor relations, mergers and acquisitions, risk management and safety, information technology, shared services, internal audit and supply chain. In addition, he had oversight responsibility for the company’s Uniform and Career Apparel Group, with sales of approximately $1.5 billion. Mr. Sutherland joined ARAMARK in 1980 as Assistant Treasurer and became Treasurer in 1983. In 1984, he was part of the management team that took the company private in what was then one of the largest management buyouts in the U.S.

Mr. Sutherland was promoted from Treasurer to Vice President, Corporate Finance and Development, in 1987 and to Senior Vice President, Finance, in 1991. In 1993, he became President of ARAMARK's Uniform and Career Apparel Group. In 1996, he assumed additional operating responsibility for ARAMARK’s Magazine and Book division, which was repositioned and divested. In 1997, he became Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of ARAMARK Corporation. In his career, he has completed financings well in excess of $10 billion and acquisitions/divestitures exceeding $3 billion in multiple countries. In 2009, he assumed additional oversight responsibilities of the company’s Uniform and Career Apparel Group.

Mr. Sutherland received his undergraduate degree cum laude in physics and mathematics from Duke University in 1973 and an MBA in finance from the Katz School of the University of Pittsburgh in 1974. He was recently recognized as one of the 225 most distinguished graduates of the University of Pittsburgh.
