Colliers International's Retail Agency team has been appointed by leading health & wellness retailer, Holland & Barrett, to advise on the brand’s expansion across the Netherlands and also to manage its real estate portfolio in Belgium.

Holland & Barrett has given Colliers International the exclusive mandate to find 5-10 shops per year in Belgium and 25 in the Netherlands.  

In the Netherlands, Colliers international is joint agent alongside Bas Retail. In addition to the acquisition programme, Colliers International will provide asset management for all the stores in Belgium.  

The global property advisors’ Research and Retail Strategy teams will create a new ‘white spot’ analysis which will form the basis of locations for new stores and identify opportunities for right-sizing and relocations within the existing portfolio.

Colliers’ retail teams in the Netherlands, UK and Belgium collaborated to secure the mandate and will work seamlessly to deliver the acquisitions and property management objectives for Holland & Barrett.

The Holland & Barrett chain is originally from the UK and specialises in selling natural lifestyle products such as vitamins and supplements. Currently, the company has 1,200 establishments around the world, of which c. 190 shops in the Netherlands and 20 in Belgium. The Dutch arm, previously known as De Tuinen, and the Belgium brand, previously known as Essenza, was renamed Holland & Barrett in 2015 in order to gain a larger market position.
