The UK’s biggest hotel brand, Premier Inn, is to open a 100-bed hotel at the £150million Bridgwater Gateway business park in Somerset.

The hotel will be located on one on the prime road frontage plots on the southern side of the entrance to the 100-acre site, off J24 of the M5 motorway.

Phil Wade, Development Manager for Bridgwater Gateway, said: “Premier Inn is an award-winning hotel brand that is the largest in the UK, and is renowned for providing well-priced quality accommodation in prominent locations.

“We are delighted Bridgwater Gateway has been chosen as the setting for their latest hotel, and we know it will play an important role in meeting huge demand for hotel rooms in the area as a result of factors such as construction of Hinkley Point C power station, and the proximity of Bristol Airport.”

Paul Smith, Acquisition Manager for Premier Inn, said: “We’re delighted to be developing a site at the Bridgwater Gateway Business Park. Bridgwater is a great location for us and we have been looking for a suitable site in the area for some time. We are investing £8.6m in the new hotel, which will create 32 year-round jobs, and we will be working closely with Bridgwater Gateway to deliver the hotel.”

Bridgwater Gateway is the newest business park development on the M5 corridor. The first phase of will feature a range of new office and commercial buildings, together with a new 150 bed 4* hotel with conference facilities that will be in addition to the Premier Inn.

Global real estate specialist Colliers International has been appointed as commercial property agent for the scheme, the first phase of which was recently released and which has final infrastructure work currently underway

Premier Inn, part of the Whitbread chain, is the UK’s biggest hotel brand and is consistently rated the UK’s Best Value Hotel Chain by YouGov.

It has over 750 hotels with 70,000 rooms across the UK and Ireland, offering king-sized beds, en-suite bathrooms, and TVs with Freeview and Wi-Fi.
