olliers International has advised Volkswagen on the acquisition of its first retail store in a UK shopping centre, a 1,921 sq ft unit in the Birmingham Bullring.
Volkswagen UK is partnering with Johnsons Cars to launch the new retail concept in the lower mall of the shopping centre, which showcases the brand’s modern vehicle line-up, in-car technology, and advanced features in an experiential environment. The new store features three changeable display cars, so shoppers can regularly browse a new selection of models. Customers will also be able to purchase new vehicles direct in-store and browse Volkswagen’s Das WeltAuto approved used cars on the in-store tablets.
Emel Ahmet, Associate Director in Colliers International’s Birmingham office Retail team, who advised on the acquisition, commented: “This new retail store provides Bullring’s shoppers with an innovative and exciting experience and also enables Volkswagen to showcase its latest vehicles and digital innovations to new and existing customers, in an area with guaranteed footfall.”
