Global real estate advisor, Colliers International, has announced the appointment of Gary Bucknall as Associate Director in its UK Leisure Agency team in Birmingham, to expand on the team’s already established success in working with town centre, urban bars and leisure scheme clients.
With over 12 years of experience in the industry, Gary joins Colliers from his most recent role at GVA, where he was involved in undertaking leasing mandates on prominent schemes in Birmingham including The Mailbox and The Cube, as well as aspirational tenant rep disposal and acquisition instructions.
“Having successfully developed our leisure agency business over recent years with new leasing mandates from clients including Aberdeen Asset Management, Columbia Threadneedle and intu properties, Gary’s appointment will give us further resource to support further growth and maintain excellent client service.
“Gary’s appointment is a response to the increased integration of lifestyle leisure into mixed use environments. He has a wealth of experience of these markets, across the Midlands, and will complement the existing team, fulfilling our goal of providing our clients with exceptional service across the whole leisure sector,” says Ross Kirton, Head of UK Leisure Agency at Colliers International.
James Shorthouse, Head of Alternative Markets at Colliers International adds, “The leisure sector continues to prosper with more and more landlords and investors attracted by the long term growth prospects and attractive returns. Gary will be the 15th member of the Alternative Markets team in the Birmingham office, underlining Colliers’ commitment to these thriving sectors, and reaffirming our commitment to grow service lines across the Midlands.”
Gary Bucknall, Associate Director in the Licensed and Leisure team at Colliers International adds, “Colliers is a globally recognised real estate company and has a strong reputation for providing a high quality service. I am excited to be working closely with established commercial property experts and a diverse client base.”
