Colliers International’s Park Agency team has advised Leisure Resorts, a new company led by UK holiday park tycoon, Gary Molloy, on the purchase of the 5-star Sampool Caravan and Lodge Park near Kendal for an undisclosed sum.
Sampool Caravan and Lodge Park, which has been sold by Leisure Parks, consists of around 220 holiday caravan and lodge pitches and has recently undergone a major re-development, making it one of the best holiday parks in the Lake District region.
The property is located in a prime Lake District location, only 10 minutes’ drive from junction 36 of the M6, and a five-minute drive from the historic market town of Kendal. Bowness and Windermere are also within close proximity, making it an ideal location to visit and explore the Lake District and Cumbria.
Richard Moss, Head of UK Parks Agency said, “Holiday parks of this quality are rare and although Leisure Parks were not actively seeking a sale, the timing and deal was right for both parties.
“Sampool Caravan and Lodge Park provides Leisure Resorts an excellent foundation from which to develop a holiday parks portfolio of the highest standard moving forward.”
Leisure Resorts was founded in 2017 by Gary Molloy, who is the former CEO and co-founder of luxury holiday park operator Park Leisure 2000, which was sold to Midlothian Capital Partners for £103 million in early 2017.
Mr Molloy added, “Colliers’ input was invaluable in bringing this deal together and we very much look forward to continuing the excellent work of the previous owner.”
