St. Petersburg, February 21, 2014. Colliers International drawn up the 2013 results at the First Brokerage project being held in St. Petersburg for four years. The project aims to summarize the absorption of office, retail and warehouse space in the city, as well as the competitive environment in the commercial real estate market analysis. The rating is based on analysis of lease and purchase/sale transactions of real estate premises completed last year. The project is organized by Dmitriy Kirman, a journalist and a managing partner of Press-Papier PR-agency.
In 2013, 12 major consulting companies participated in the rating. For the first time, the results were processed by an independent AFK-audit company. According to the rating, Colliers International closed a quarter of all the transactions completed by the project participants in 2013. The volume of the retail real estate transactions completed by Colliers International reached record-breaking for St. Petersburg 70,000 sq. m and is almost five times more comparing to the main competitor`s result. In addition, Colliers International closed the largest retail deal in 2013: the lease agreement for more than 4,000 sq. m in Europolis Shopping and Entertainment Center was signed by Media Markt.
In 2013, Colliers International also became a leader among the consulting companies implementing sale of land plots. The company sold more than 33 ha of land for the further commercial and residential projects development. This figure amounts to 50% of the total transaction volume in this segment.
In general, according to the rating, Colliers International has been holding the leading position in the real estate leasing market for the third year in a row (2011, 2012, 2013) taking into account the total results in all segments and has been in the top three brokers in each property sector (retail, warehouse and industrial).
