Among the torchbearers are the famous athletes, Olympic champions, cultural workers, including Vladimir Medinskiy, Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation, Alexander Kerzhakov, player of St. Petersburg Zenit Football Club, Evgeni Plushenko, figure skater and Olympic champion, as well as business representatives - CEOs and directors of the major companies.
Nikolay Kazanskiy, managing partner of Colliers International in Russia:
“Business has much in common with sport: both of them are characterized by a will to win, competition, struggle and a continuous search of the better. The Relay gave me an intense feeling of responsibility and honor, when I carried a torch with the real Olympic Flame, which passes through the years and centuries. We will certainly keep the torch in our company. However, we have an idea to send it for a round-the-world tour and show it all our colleagues at Colliers International worldwide”.
The XXII Olympic Winter Games will start on February 7th, 2014. The relay of the Olympic Flame preceding the Games will take 123 days and pass through 2,900 cities of Russia. The event will become the longest relay in Winter Olympics history. The length of its distance will amount to more than 65 thousand kilometers.
