Bucharest, August 6th, 2013 – GTC & Bluehouse have successfully finalized the certification process for the first tower of its City Gate project in Bucharest, with City Gate North Tower becoming the first existing building in Bucharest to obtain a LEED Gold certification. This is also the first green certification project closed by Colliers International in Romania.
City Gate, GTC's & Bluehouse’s office project in the centre of Bucharest is an ultra modern development comprising two 18-storey office towers in Presei Libere square. The Class A office project, with a gross built area of 44,000 square meters, provides a modern working environment to well known tenants such as Rompetrol, Romtelecom, Microsoft, Millenium Bank, Hoffmann-La Roche, Alcatel, E.ON, Chevron etc.
Given its exceptional quality, the project was awarded twice by CEE Real Estate at the ”Projects” category in 2012 and, also, won a GREEN Building certificate at the 2012 edition of the Europa Property SEE Awards. Previously, the project was honored both as the best office development in 2009 (CEE Real Estate Office Development of the Year) as well as the best overall building of the year 2009 (CEE Real Estate Buliding of the Year).
“We are extremely happy with the results of the green certification process of City Gate North. The decision reinforces our commitment towards commercial property development in Romania and sets positive prerequisites for the future certification of the South Tower, soon to be completed. The developers of this project are looking forward to benefit from the certification by reducing the maintenance cost of the project, parallel to the attribute preserved of the green resources”, said Shimon GALON, CEO of GTC Romania.
