Q. What kind of person succeeds in your role at Colliers International?
A. I am now close to completing 10 years in real estate valuation and I may say that I have learnt to love valuation, because of its uniqueness - no property is the same. As a Team Leader, my job requires a great deal of planning, deadline control, but also valuation quality monitoring; but I manage never to stay away from the actual valuation! In conclusion, in property valuation besides the wide technical knowledge (ranging from finance, economics, construction, planning), we need to be creative and think out of the box; furthermore, as a Team Leader, I need planning, strategy and management skills.
Q. How would you describe the culture at Colliers International?
A. At Colliers, we prise the collaborative environment. We have regular brainstorming meetings, where we try to develop new solutions for every department. We spend most of our days with our colleagues, so we end up setting a sound complicity, understanding when someone needs a joke or a help. Furthermore, being part of a global organisation, makes it easier to get quick solutions from every place in the world, regardless of knowing the people.
Q. What do you do when you're not working?
A. I have a little baby boy, so I try to spend most of my available time with him and my wife. But I always try to spend some time with my friends and I never miss Porto's home games.
