The redevelopment of the shopping mall Westwijk is still ongoing this year. At that time, there is added approximately 3,500 m2 and the entire mall has undergone a complete facelift. On 6 october, Albert Heijn has opened his new venue. The old location of Albert Heijn, is rebuild and Deen Supermarkten will open its doors in 2016. terStal is a fashion chain with more than 200 locations with women, men and children in the low to mid range segment. The new store of terStal family fashion is approximately 300 m2 and will be located in a covered shopping area. AMI Kappers is 95m2 and will open its doors next to the new Albert Heijn venue. AMI Kappers has 82 branches spread across the country and was recently selected as the winner of the Best Barber Chain Award of 2016.  

Did Vastgoedontwikkeling from Utrecht is responsible for the redevelopment of the shopping mall Westwijk. In partnership with Colliers Internation REMS Retail B.V., responsible for the rental of the centre, they will ensure that the shopping centre will continue its function for the entire duration. Westwijk mall currently comprises approximately 4,800m2, it is redeveloped into a convenience centre, matching to the scale of Westwijk with approximately 8,350m2 of shops, restaurants and services. The public area has been completely redone. Deen supermarkten, Toko Shilla, catering business Puur en lekker and Teerhuis Fietsen has signed the new lease contract. 

In mid-October, all units are rented and delivered to the new renters. Most of the new stores are expected to open in early December. The grand reopening of the renovated shopping mall Westwijk, will take place in the first quarter of 2017.

Did Vastgoedontwikkeling from Utrecht is, together with Colliers International ’s-Hertogenbosch, chief developer on behalf of the owner Episo. Asset manager and co-owner Sectie5 Investments has given the command to Colliers International about the shopping centre and the new retail units that are available for rental. On behalf of Sectie5, TWYL BV from Bussum will perform as project manager. Buro van der Goes from Hilversum is the architect of the expansion/ renovation and Bureau Hoogeveen from Amstelveen is the architect of the new building.
