It’s not just a love of food that makes us here at Colliers love Dublin 8, for starters, as any dog owner will know, the leafy canal walk is the perfect spot to stretch your pet’s legs and you can take a detour and meander along Florence St, Victoria St in Portobello and longingly gaze at the beautiful red bricks.

Now that we’ve covered food and shopping, what else does Dublin 8 offer, for the culture vulture there IMMA – Irelands Museum of Modern Art a beautiful building providing a most enjoyable, engaging and forever changing experience of contemporary art, of particular note is the significant five-year loan of 50 works by one of the greatest realist painters of the 20th century, Lucian Freud (1922-2011). Across the road is of course Kilmainham Gaol and Museum and if you were surprised to hear Francis St is Dublin 8, I must also enlighten you to the fact that the Phoenix Park is also in fact in Dublin 8 – one of only 2 postcodes spanning either side of the Liffey.
In recent years, the charming red brick terraced houses only a stroll from the Guinness Storehouse have become popular among urbanites. There are quite a few apartments complexes off Cork Street and Clanbrassil Street, within 15/20 minutes’ strolls of Grafton Street. With great transport links, Dublin Bike stations at several locations, Luas stop at James Hospital and proximity to Heuston Station, it’s easy to see why more people are falling in love with Dublin 8.
