June 30, 2014 - Isle of Arran’s Coast Restaurant, a popular 40-cover eatery overlooking Whiting Bay Beach and the Firth of Clyde, has been placed on the market, with selling agent Colliers International inviting offers in excess of £225,000 for the business.  The single storey brick built property, designed and fitted to a high standard, has a beachfront conservatory and decked seating area to the rear, which providing a further 20 covers.

Coast Restaurant, which secured a net profit of £57,000 in the year to April, on a turnover of £200,000, was awarded a Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence earlier this year, on the strength of its 93 per cent ‘recommended’ rating.

The restaurant is prominently located on Whiting Bay’s Shore Road, on the South East corner of Arran. Some eight miles from Brodick, the island is popular with outdoor enthusiasts, who can enjoy walking, climbing, cycling and fishing, alongside no fewer than seven golf courses. Whiting Bay, the third largest village on the island, has an excellent local community and offers a range of amenities, including two general stores, newsagent, post office, pharmacy, hardware store and farm shop, as well as guest houses and a hotel. There is also a local primary school, with secondary schooling nearby at the newly-constructed Lamlash High School.
