Colliers International has sold Torryburn Hotel, School Road, Kintore, Inverurie, Aberdeenshire, on the instructions of KPMG LLP acting on behalf of the Accountant in Bankruptcy, as trustee in the sequestration of the proprietors of the hotel. The new owner, Fochabers-based Bob Milton Properties Limited, is planning to redevelop the former hotel and its surrounding grounds, which extends to some 1.5 acres.

The once fine detached Georgian residence, which provided accommodation of 11 letting bedrooms, lounge and public bars, dining and function rooms, in addition to a separate three-bedroom cottage, ceased trading in early 2012.

Alistair Letham, a director with selling agent Colliers International, said: “With the proximity to Aberdeen, the availability of this property attracted significant interest. The new owner will redevelop the property and the future plans for the property and land are still being considered.”

The purchase price of the Torryburn Hotel was not disclosed.
