The 15-bedroom hotel, which also features a restaurant, bar and three-room private flat, was acquired Caithness-based Pentland Properties (Scotland) Limited and is set to be redeveloped into leisure accommodation.

Plockton was once a closely guarded secret, until featuring on the BBC TV series Hamish Macbeth.

Alistair Letham, a director with selling agent Colliers International, commented: “The sale of the Haven Hotel attracted a lot of interest from overseas and locally with prospective purchasers recognising the attraction and draw of Plockton and the potential appeal of the Haven Hotel”.

The purchase price of Haven Hotel, Innes Street, Plockton, IV52 8TW was not disclosed but Colliers International confirmed that it exceeded the asking price of offers over £300,000.
